Development of a joint Ukrainian-Dutch project “Strategy of Land and Water Consolidation in Ukraine” was discussed in Derzhkomzem

 

 

Deputy Chairman of Derzhkomzem Mykhailo Tomahin held a two-day meeting with the Counsellor for Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Meeuwes Y. Brouwer and with representatives of the Government Service for Land and Water Management (DLG) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Henk Moen and Frank van Holst. The meeting was attended by managers and specialists of structural units of Derzhkomzem, director of the State Enterprise “Main Institute of Land Development” Svitlana Besarab.

Participants of the meeting discussed the matter of development of a joint Ukrainian-Dutch project “Strategy of Land and Water Consolidation in Ukraine” within the framework of the G2G program with consideration to outcomes of the project on Land and Water Consolidation implemented in 2007-2009 with participation of SCLR, MAP, SCWM, the State Enterprise “Main Institute of Land Development”, other stakeholders of Ukraine and the Netherlands.   

Following discussions tentative content of the draft of a Concept of the Program of Land, Water and Forest Resources Consolidation of the Rural Territory in Ukraine has been formulated, main issues to be taken into account in the project proposal to EVD (Financial Agency in the Netherlands) have been identified. Depending on volumes of financing the project will last from one to two years. Specialists of MAP, SCWM, SCF and of other stakeholders of Ukraine and the Netherlands are also planned to be involved in preparation and implementation of the project.  

In conclusion, the Ukrainian party expressed gratitude to the Dutch experts for support in conducting land reforms in Ukraine and confirmed readiness to further fruitful cooperation.
