Director of the Department of Lands of Agricultural and Other Purpose, Protection and Monitoring of Lands of Derzhkomzem Sergiy Chernoshtan as a member of an official Ukrainian delegation participated in the third session of Ukraine-Latvia Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation that took place on July 28-30 this year in Riga (the Republic of Latvia). During the session the Program on Economic Cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia for 2010-2011 was signed, as well as prospects of economic interaction between these countries were discussed.

Within the framework of attraction of external assistance of the European Commission through TAIEX instrument on July 26-28 this year Derzhkomzem hosted a number of working meetings between staff of the Department of the State Inspection of Control over Use and Protection of Lands and the Economist-Consultant of UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Edward Lockhart-Mummery.

The Department of Lands of Agricultural and Other Purpose, Protection and Monitoring of Lands informs that owners of the right for a land parcel (share), proved by a certificate for the right of ownership of a land parcel (share) or a state deed for the right of ownership of a land plot concluded as of 1 July 2010 4,584.4 thou. agreements for a land parcel (share) tenancy.

At the plenary meeting July, 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Laws of Ukraine "On Amendment of Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine "On Land Lease" (concerning state registration of an agreement for land lease)" and "On Amendment of Article 208 of the Land Code of Ukraine about Conditions of Use of Plots by Public Organizations of Disabled Persons".

Yesterday at the extended meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, Deputy Chairman of Derzhkomzem Viktor Petruk participated in discussion of 6 draft laws. This was the motto of the VII congress of soil scientists and agro-chemists of Ukraine that will last till July, 8, in Zhytomyr Agroecological Academy of Ukraine. Congress delegates discuss actual problems of preservation of soil surface as the most important national wealth of Ukraine and perspectives of their solving. The welcoming address was delivered by the General Secretary of the Ukrainian Association of Soil Scientists and Agro-Chemists, Academician of the UAAS Sviatoslav Baliuk. Deputy Chairman of Derzhkomzem Viktor Petruk held a speech at the congress as its participant.

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 439 of 2 June 2010 "On Establishment of a Commission of Control over Use and Alienation of Lands of Defense and other Lands of the State Ownership" came into force. The Commission is headed by the Vice-Prime-Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Sivkovych; Chairman of Derzhkomzem Oleh Kulinich was approved as his deputy. The Commission also includes the General Director of the State Enterprise "Centre of the State Land Cadastre" Oleksandr Filatov.

Within the framework of the Project "German-Ukrainian Agrarian Dialogue" with the view of taking into account the best experience of the Federal Republic of Germany in the field of land relations on the 15th-16th of June this year a two-day seminar was held in Derzhkomzem with the specialists of the Bodenverwertungs- und -verwaltungs GmbH (BVVG). The seminar was attended by representatives of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, the State Forestry Committee, the State Enterprise "Main Institute of Land Development", chiefs and specialists of structural units of Derzhkomzem and the Centre of the State Land Cadastre.

On the 17th of June the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" hosted within the framework of XXII International Agroindustrial Exhibition "Agro-2010" a "round table" meeting under the topic: "Ways of Introduction of Market Land Relations in Ukraine" chaired by Deputy Director of Institute of Agrarian Markets Development Roman Korinets'. The meeting was attended by Chief of the Department of Legislative Regulation and Land Relations Development of Derzhkomzem Alla Kalnichenko who also delivered a speech.

An extended meeting between staff of Derzhkomzem and staff of the prosecutors' offices of Ukraine chaired by Deputy General Prosecutor of Ukraine Tetiana Korniakova and Chairman of Derzhkomzem Oleh Kulinich was held in Derzhkomzem. The meeting was attended by heads of territorial bodies for land resources, heads of departments of the State Inspection of Control over Use and Protection of Lands (the Inspection hereafter), directors and senior prosecutors of divisions of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, regional inter-district environmental prosecutors.
